Tax Resident Certificate Expats

Many of the Indian expats and other nationalities might be looking for a tax resident certificate from Qatar for submission in their respective countries for tax/TDS purposes. I recently got one and want to share for benefit of all. 

You need to visit the General Tax Authority located in West Bay opposite to Ezdan Hotel. The General Tax Authority is a grey cladded building with blue window glasses. The entrance of building is from back side. 

You need to submit a letter from your employer in Arabic language mentioning your Qatar ID and passport number and requesting for the a tax resident certificate. The letter to be addressed to A/Director of Taxpayer Service Department, General Tax Authority, Qatar. Attach a copy of ypur Qatar ID and passport. A form in Arabic needs to be filled and submitted

I got this done on the 4th floor of the General Tax Authority. Ask at the reception on ground floor that you have to go for tax resident certificate. They will guide you. 

Once you submit the document and application, the certificate is usually ready in 3 working days. There is no charge or fee.
