1. Qatar International Food Festival 2019

Dates: March 20-30

Time: 03:00 pm – 11:00 pm (Saturday – Wednesday) and 3 pm to 1 am (Thursday and Friday)

Where: Oxygen Park in Education City, Qatar Foundation

Qatar’s most-awaited food festival each year is all set to take place today and run until March 30, 2019 at the Oxygen Park in Qatar Foundation (QF).

This year’s QIFF will mark the festival’s 10th year anniversary and is being tailored to bring some exciting new elements on the scene in a modified format for residents and visitors of all ages to enjoy.

The Festival, which will take place in collaboration between Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) and QF, is the country’s longest-running food and beverage tradition that combines culinary arts with family entertainment.

QIFF 2019 will be a food lovers’ haven with about 150 F&B stalls spread over three dedicated areas at one of the most gorgeous and picturesque venues in Qatar, dubbed as the “Green Lung.”

At the Festival, area 01 will offer main course specialties, 02 will focus on kid-friendly foods and activities and 03 will be dedicated for cafes and light food coupled with private seating areas where pre-set menus will be served.

Over the last decade, QIFF has grown as a festival and so has its contribution to the country’s thriving dining scene by attracting international chefs to open local outlets and support local businesses.

This year, the Festival has dedicated 15% of its spaces to up-and-coming entrepreneurs and local Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) to provide them with a suitable platform to introduce their F&B offerings in the market.

2. A.R. Rahman - Live in Qatar 2019

Dates: March 22, 2019

Grammy and Oscar-winning musician, A.R. Rahman is all set to enthrall Qatar for the very first time on March 22, 2019 at Khalifa International Stadium.

A. R. Rahman is an Indian composer, singer-songwriter, music producer, musician, multi-instrumentalist and philanthropist.

Bringing his inimitable music to Qatar, the performance adds to the activities part of the Qatar-India Year of Culture 2019 presented by Katara Studios.

3. Francophonie Festival 2019

Dates: March 13-23, 2019

Time: 08:00 am – 05:00 pm

Entry: Entry free for all

This year’s Francophonie festival, scheduled to be held from March 13 to 23, features different events including music performances, sports tournaments, gastronomic events and a speech contest.

The envoy said the week is dedicated to French cuisine, a gastronomic event dubbed as ‘Gout de France/Good France’ that will dazzle residents and visitors with the flavours of Provence from March 21 to 24. It will be celebrated in many restaurants across Doha.

Students from different schools will battle it out at the ‘Olympiades of the Francophonie’, a series of sporting competitions kicking off with fencing (a sport in which the French language is used), theatrical performances, writing contests, and plastic arts on March 23 from 10 am to 4 pm at the French Qatari Voltaire School in Al Waab.

The five-member musical group ‘Cinq de Coeur’ will present a unique show titled ‘The non-return concert’, aimed at entertaining the audience with their humour and vocal skills through lyrical chant.

The quintet will perform renowned classical repertoire or the standard variety through wacky scenes on March 23 at 4 pm at the Drama Theater, Katara – the Cultural Village.

4. AgriTeQ & EnviroTeQ 2019

Dates: March 19-22, 2019

Time: 10:00 am – 09:00 pm

Where: Doha Exhibition and Convention Center

Entry: Entry is free for all

AgriteQ has returned with its seventh edition that began on March 19 and will go on until March 22 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.

The exhibition will highlights innovation in agricultural techniques, and pinpoints the road map to achieve food security and sustainable development.

7. Teddy Bear Mini Hospital for children

Dates: March 17 - 30, 2019

Time: 10:00 am – 08:00 pm

Where: Doha Festival City

Entry: Entry is free for all

Doha Festival City, Qatar’s preferred lifestyle and entertainment destination is setting up a mini teddy bear hospital to help children learn about healthcare in a fun and innovative way.

The event started on March 17 and will run until March 30 at the mall’s Centre Court on the ground floor. It is free of charge. Parents can register their children anytime between 10 am to 8 pm.

Children can see their teddy bears undergo medical screening, followed by a visit to nine different stations comprising a waiting room, a nutrition consultant station, a surgery room, a dentist, an ophthalmologist, and a pharmacy clinic respectively.

Children will also get a chance to enjoy various giveaways from Mustela and Baladna, during the 14-day activity.

Johnny Lever Live – Doha 2019

Johnny Lever, whose comic timing has infused uninhibited laughter in many Indian cinemas, is set to give an entertainment-packed performance for the very first time in Qatar on March 28!

Double the excitement as he shares the stage with his daughter Jamie Lever.

The event will be held at Qatar National Convention Centre’s Al Mayassa Theatre, organized by Millennium Entertainment Qatar and The Final Touch Entertainment India in collaboration with Mr. Hamad Al Amari. The event will be hosted by the comedian Mr. Gaurav Sharma.

‘Johnny Lever Live’ is a comedy show which is a complete family entertainer and open to all the age groups.  All acts of this show will be performed in Hindi. All acts are simple and thought provoking and there is foul language, profanity, vulgarity or political content.

Johnny Lever is one of the first stand-up comedians in India. He won two Filmfare Awards for his outstanding work in Deewana Mastana (1997) and Dulhe Raja (1998). He started his career in 1984 and has acted in more than 300 Bollywood moves.

Jamie Lever is an Indian stand-up comedian, the daughter of Johnny Lever. She has performed at The Comedy Store, Mumbai from 2012 as a stand-up comedian. She has also performed on Comedy Circus Ke Mahabali on Sony Entertainment Television in 2013.

Red Bull Qaher El T3ous 2019

Where: Sealine – Qatar Racing Club Track

Red Bull Qaher El T3ous is a unique desert-racing event for motorsport amateurs and Qatar’s dune racers to compete against each other, off the beaten track, on different tricky terrains.

Set in a knockout format, the competition is a demonstration of speed, skill, and strategy.
