Air India Express to launch four weekly Doha flights from Kannur next month

The South Indian state of Kerala is set to add a new airport — The Kannur International Airport — on December 9, it is understood.

Once it is inaugurated, it is expected to immensely help travellers from the area by cutting short their on-road journey time significantly.

Budget airline Air India Express has announced it will launch four-times-a-week flights to Doha once the new airport is formally launched, according to Gulf Times.

According to the Air India Express communique, the inaugural flight to Doha (IX0773) will leave Kannur at 8.20pm (India) on December 10 and reach Doha at 10pm (Qatar).

The AI Express Kannur-Doha service will be operated on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The return flight (IX0774) to Kannur will leave Doha at 11pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, and reach Kannur at 5.45am (India) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
Kannur will be home to the fourth international airport in Kerala after Kozhikode, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.
