Woqod opens two brand new petrol stations in Al Kharaitiyat and Al Thumama
In what is sure to come as a big happy news for drivers, Qatar Fuel (Woqod) has announced the opening of two brand new petrol stations in the country.
While the first station was opened in Al Kharaitiyat, the second one has begun functioning at Al Thumama. A third one, which is mobile, has been opened in Al Wakrah, reported Gulf Times.
With the opening of the new stations, the number of Woqod petrol pumps in the country has gone up to 72.
The petrol station at Al Kharaitiyat, which is spread over an area of 11,300SqM and has three lanes with nine dispensers, is expected to cut down waiting time significantly.
The Al Thumama petrol station covers an area of 7,000SqM, will have the same number of lanes and dispensers, reported The Peninsula.
“We’re pleased to open two new fixed petrol stations in Al Kharaitiyat and Al Thumama. Woqod has recently accelerated the construction of new petrol stations. We would like to extend our gratitude to all concerned governmental and private entities that contributed to the completion of this project,” Woqod CEO Saad Rashid Al Muhannadi said.
The two new petrol stations will offer round-the-clock services to residents. It will include a Sidra convenience store, manual car wash, oil change and tire repair and sale of LPG cylinders in addition to the sale of gasoline and diesel products for light vehicles.
Woqod is currently working on the construction of 25 petrol station projects. A large number of them are expected to be operational this year.
Woqod currently has seven new stations in the tendering phase and 16 in the design phase.
