Description
Financial Accounting Manager
Manages and undertakes preparation (in compliance with US GAPP) of financial statements and accompanying
reports and narratives to annual, quarterly and monthly deadlines.
Act as first point of contact to the auditors, and assists auditors in performing their audit procedures to resolve
all their queries in a satisfactory and timely manner.
Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the Finance Department’s policies and procedures, while ensuring proper
implementation of such policies. Recommends and maintains appropriate internal controls over the College’s
assets and maintenance of financial records.
Proposes amendments to the Finance Department’s policies and procedures as needed and or required due to
change in circumstances at WCMC-Q, and or the evolvement and development of WCMC-Q and secures
appropriate approval(s) and ensures proper implementation of such revised policies & procedures.
Responsible for proper recording of vendor invoices with timely processing of payments while ensuring
accuracy, approval and completeness of appropriate documentation in compliance with College policies and legal
requirements including NY compliance office requirements.
Establishes and implements procedures to ensure proper accounting, controls and safekeeping of cash and cash
equivalents.
Liaison to all divisions and its external collaborators regarding financial and related reporting matters. Prepares
various monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc financial schedules and reports as required by management and/or
the Qatar Foundation.
Demonstrates initiative and the ability to multi task and manage different projects at concurrent times.
Supervises Accountants, AP team and the Senior Cashier.
Ensures timely and accurate accounting of Funds provided via contracts for Academic, Clinical or Research
activity and observes financial conditions related to their use and safekeeping.
Manages and Reviews preparation of QF quarterly reports and variance analysis for operating and capital
budgets.
Acts as a key contact for all FI related SAP problems or developments. Troubleshoots SAP problems using
appropriate resources, and determines necessary course of action to resolve issues.
Interviews new employees and undertakes preparation of finance related sign on documents.
Ensures that all Qatar month end tasks are completed and updated per the closing process “CLOCO” in SAP
after RRB run.
