Sep’17 – till now:

 

 

1. Worked on a PoC for COLT Technology Services for replicating the Seibel production DB, so that the “Colt Online” (https://www.colt.net/colt-online/) accessing Siebel data will return the data sets quickly.

 

Colt Technology Services uses Siebel backend systems to support various aspects of customer life cycle. Siebel databases accessed for read only information by Colt online system is not optimized for quick results. To handle the slowness and align with Colt strategic digital vision, plan is to have replicated databases for the read only access.

 

Part of this PoC, following accomplishments are completed in a record time.

1.       Installation of Oracle DB on a new sever, which was used as the target DB

2.       Installation of OGG on the target server

3.       Configuration of OGG for classic capture on the target server in unidirectional mode.

4.       Configured EXTRACT on target to read the production log files using TRANLOGOPTIONS DBLOGREADER DBLOGREADERBUFSIZE Show number2097152

5.       Execution on DDL/DML on source was instantly captured on target and verified the same.

6.       Assisted PL/SQL developer to fine tune queries executed on the target DB by Colt online.

7.       Created a power point presentation for the client and presented the same with OGG configured demo to wider audience.

8.       Created a PoC consolidated document needed to be given to COLT as deliverable.

 

Worked on performance improvements of check connectivity and check price APIs.

1.       Query tuning based on the use cases provided by Microservices/Hi-bandwidth team for ON-NET, OFF-NET and OLO

2.       Provided recommendations on tuning prospects to Colt team.

 

II.     Worked on Proposal to Colt on Initiative of Virtualisation of inbound/outbound Siebel up-to-date data driven services which be built by replicating the Siebel production database using Oracle Golden Gate Replication Tool.

 

·         There is always a need to have a clean data for the DEV/TEST/CIT/SIT/UAT for dev and testing. Having OGG configured to replicate this data will help create these environments quickly without touching production server.

·         We can use the Consolidation Topology of OGG to create a Single Target Database from multiple DBs, which can be used for data ware housing and data mining purposes.

·         OGG can also remove the dependency on the interfaces, which currently do the data transfers between multiple systems databases with in the eco system.

·         We can reduce the load of EAI calls on the production DB by having a cloned DB using OGG and multiple EAI servers can be configured to reach cloned DB for Inbound and Outbound webservice requests.

Responsibility:

·         Install Oracle DB (12c/11g/10g) and Oracle Golden Gate for recreating customer and test scenarios in heterogeneous environment (Oracle-Oracle, MySQL-MySQL,Teradata-Teradata, Oracle-Teradata).

·         Recreating customer issues in-house and verifying after fix

·         Configuration of Data replication servers using Oracle GoldenGate

·         Checking blocking/Inactive sessions in database & Monitoring long running jobs or sessions

·         Upgrade Oracle instances and OGG and apply patches.

·         Monitoring the usage of index and analyze the index, if necessary rebuild index to rectify segment fragmentation
