What is the "real" criteria for getting selected at jobs?

Whenever I have glance through job advertisements appearing at Qatar Living, I sometimes wonder how people get selected for job vacancies here. I have seen today two vacancies advertised at Qatar Living where just the "nationality factor" is the most important requirement for selection. It makes me ask why do such employers want to employ people only from their own nation while living in different country? What if there are more qualified and experienced hands available in the market but they do not have the "right" nationality? Here are two samples for such ads that appeared at QL:

WE URGENTLY REQUIRED A Procurement Officer

  1. REQUIRED PHILIPINO NATIONALITY ONLY

2.Food and Beverage Company is looking for PURCHASING OFFICER in Doha.

Only for Sri Lankan nationality. If you are any nationality other than Sri Lankan, please don't send your CV.

Mainly dependent on the visa nationality availability.

Yes of course preferential terms and condition exist.(as present in every other place in the world)

Actually ministry issue visas based on nationalities and professions, companies they got visas in bulk and they issue visas to their employee. For example i have one visa remaining with me for foreman and visa available with me is for XYZ nationality, so definitley i will try to hire that nationality only otherwise i have to go through new visa approval or change in nationality of remaining visa with me.

When you ask a stupid person what is 3+3, his answer will be 7. If you question him, he will defend himself by saying you forgot to add the carry. No one can argue against a stupid person and win. Keep that in mind, always!

Ease of work is the first benefit we get out of it, because of the same language & feelings we can make a better decisions, we understand eachother much more deeply. That isn't why most people marry from their own countries / regions ?

We chose Qatar as our place of work & live, it is OUR choice. Tomorrow Oman won't question you on your choice of the place of work. Even our own country won't ask us any questions on our choice. It is very simple my pal.

If you cannot write sense, don't write nonsense which you have been doing for the past several years.

This will not resolve any issue pertaining to the society's choices for a particular person. You can start a business in Sri Lanka & Phil and hire the workforce from Lebanon, You won't bother on what others do to run their business smoothly.
