Seeking advice on work benefits/ allowances being taken away from wife when husband starts sponsored job in Doha.
Hi, I work in Doha now and my husband intends to move to Doha and find a job to sponsor him. I thought we could both keep whatever benefits are included in each of our work contracts but I have heard that if a husband works then the wife will lose her housing allowance and other benefits as the female will then go under her husband's benefits. Please let me know if anyone knows about this as I don't think speaking to HR at work will be the best option.
I'm concerned as my husband's salary is likely to be less than mine so possibly the housing allowance too. One way around it could be that I dont let HR know he is moving over and for him to not tell his work that he is married therefore we can have seperate work benefits.
If anyone has any information I'd be very grateful to hear. THANKS!
Hello guys,
I have a question please, I was wondering for the role of Senior manager contract centers at qatar airways how much would I ask per month (me and my wife) or what is conciderd a good salary fit this role.
Please let me know
Never tell a lie, because you have to speak 3 dozen more lies to to hide the first one.
My assumptions: while working on two different sponsors, you both will be eligible to get your benefits and allowances from individual sponsors. However, please also do note that in any case, if anything were to happen, and one of you want to leave the country, the other would have a hard time applying for family visa status or take vacation or even leave without prior notice etc. etc.. In other words, you forgo family visa status, and will also be illegible for any related Company benefits. Also you both would be each other's emergency contact, hence why hide from your Company that your spouse is working with a different sponsor?
if husband and wife under private companies, its not an issue. Maintain your work visa under your employer.
If in government sector then its tough. In private sector no one cares much.
Yes, its true from what I have read at QL from various posts that the wife will lose her benefits if the husband works here. I would suggest not adopt the way you have stated by not letting the HR of both companies get to know that you and your husband are working here. You may be running a big risk here. Suggest you contact Sheen Services for better advice. You can get their contact details through Google.
