It was only a little over two weeks ago that Qatar’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced it was inviting applications for about 800 job vacancies.

The Ministry has now made a follow-up announcement that over 37,000 people have applied for the 800 posts on offer, according to Gulf Times.

The Ministry said that most of the applicants for academic, administrative and special education posts received through its website belonged to various Arab nationalities, according to The Peninsula. All applications were made between December 15 and 31.

The ministry said that its work teams had started sorting through the applications. It said that the interview process was scheduled to take place in Qatar and in a number of Arab countries during January and February.

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education had announced job openings in the public schools for the academic year 2018-19 with regard to educational posts (males and females), administrative jobs (males only) and special education posts (male and female).
