Visa-free entry for Indians
Hello, I have booked Srilankan airlines for my brothers to travel from Chennai, India to Doha. He will be staying here for 8 days with me in Ezdan. we have also booked the return ticket. Unfortunately, the Srilankan airlines are not allowing the passengers without a valid visa, we were told by the airlines' office that the passenger should have the valid visa or he has to carry the confirmed hotel booking and 1500 USD for travel expenses. Is that the restriction to use this great "visa free entry" feature?
Please, could someone advise the requirements and process to avail this visa-free entry to Qatar?
Thanks in advance,
Peer.
I have confirmed, one of my neighbor's Dad has come from India, Chennai. He has shown only the QID of his son at the airport, nothing else was asked. He stayed here for 1 month.
There was also a post from MOI yesterday, here it is...
On-Arrival Tourist Visas
The State of Qatar has recently introduced different types of visas including on-arrival visas, e-authorization and e-visas. On-arrival tourist visas includes 90 days multi-entry visa for citizens of 34 countries and 30 days multi-entry visa is given for nationals of 47 countries.
General conditions for these visas are six month passport validity and confirmed return or onward ticket. Hotel booking or any other conditions are not compulsory for these types of on-arrival tourist visas. However, the visitor may be asked to provide address of his place of stay in Qatar. 90-days visa has a validity of 180 days with multi-entry option and it is not extendable while 30-days visa can be extended for another 30 days and it can be done online through our website.

In India they are not allowing it seems so confirm well...
Thank you for your time to reply, I spoke with Indigo airlines in Qatar, and I was told that the visitor will have to show my ID copy and the invitation letter from me at the airport. That's all.
Qatar airways only allowing... I heard
officers already told you the requirements(hotel booking and cash ) its better if you apply tourist visa from here if they are staying only for 8days. Tourist visa will cost you only QR 350 and it will take 2 to 3 days. tourist visa is valid upto 1 month.
no need valid visa for this catogary..indians can get visa on arrival at airport just have to show 1500 dolar and hotel booking or if staying with relative can show your id card and house contract copy at airport....
