Qatar Airways inks interline partnership with India’s Vistara Airlines
Travelling to smaller towns and cities in India from Qatar has just gotten a lot more easier.
This is because Qatar Airways (QA) has entered into an interline partnership with India’s Vistara, a growing and full-service Indian airline, to further facilitate its passengers’ journeys, reported Gulf Times.
The new agreement, which comes on the occasion of QA’s 20 years of flights to India, went into effect from Tuesday.
The agreement will help customers of the two carriers to have seamless travel to and from India to over 150 destinations, reported Hindustan Times.
While Qatar Airways currently operates to 13 cities in India, the Tata-SIA run joint venture airline Vistara operates to 18 domestic destinations.
An interline arrangement refers to a pact to issue and accept tickets for flights that are operated by the partner airline. When selling an interline ticket, the operating airline’s own flight numbers are used.
“This exciting new partnership with Vistara will bring enhanced connectivity and increased convenience to our passengers travelling within India on an expanding full-service premium carrier,” QA Group chief executive Akbar Al Baker said.
