Know your Qatar landmarks: The Dallah Coffee Pot

Qatar is not just known for its iconic buildings, as the city itself is surrounded by many landmarks that leave visitors breathless.
If you’ve travelled past the Corniche in West Bay, we’re pretty sure you’ve noticed the giant Dallah Coffee Pot that stands by the entrance to Al Dafna park.
While the monument is surrounded by more well-known buildings such as the Burj Doha and Tornado Tower, the Dallah Coffee Pot is an impressive structure.
A symbol of hospitality, a dallah is considered a welcoming gesture in the Arabic world, and the welcoming monument is an accurate representation of the land.
For those who may not be familiar with a dallah, it is a traditional Arabic coffee pot used to brew and serve gahwa, an Arabic coffee. These are commonly found in most Arabic households or restaurants as they are used during social gatherings or celebrations. Depending on the owners social standing or purpose of the occasion, dallahs can be made of either brass, steel or even pure gold for some royalty.
