In the crowded space of food bloggers, Sheikha Alnawar has carved a niche following thanks to her love of sweet treats. With a rapidly growing following of over 11,000 followers on Instagram, My Sweet Tooth has won people over with its honest reviews of desserts.
Alnawar does not consider herself a foodie, but rather lives by her motto of “find your passion and let it kill you”, and her passion just happens to be desserts.
What initially started as a fun thing to do with friends, has turned into a full-time commitment for the chocolate loving dessert critic.
“I remember the first time I did a post on Instagram, I was in London, and all my friends ordered things like burgers, but I ordered three different kinds of desserts. They told me I would never eat all of that, but I just wanted to try all of them”, reminisced Alnawar.
“I started noticing the numbers increasing on my posts, so then I just kept posting.”
With the cost of paying for everything she reviews on her own expense, comes the freedom of being completely honest in her feedback. Thanks to her posts growing in popularity, restaurants have also begun to recognize Alnawar from her blog, and often try to impress with their presentation, but looks can be deceiving.
“Some desserts can look amazing but disappoint in their taste. However, something can look unimpressive and turn out to be delicious”.
Alnawar is willing to try anything once, joking that sometimes it takes her longer to queue for a dessert than it does to eat it.
