Presence of Turkish troops in Qatar increases with arrival of sixth batch of soldiers

The presence of Turkish troops in Qatar is continuing to expand, with the sixth batch arriving on the country’s shores yesterday, reported Gulf Times. 

The Directorate of Moral Guidance at the Ministry of Defence said that following the arrival of this reinforcing batch, the Turkish and Qatari armed forces have started to activate the terms of the defence agreements between the two countries.

The defence cooperation between Doha and Ankara comes within the framework of the joint defence vision to support efforts to combat terrorism and extremism and to maintain security and stability in the region, according to Qatar Tribune.

The first batch of Turkish troops had arrived in Doha on June 19 and the latest batch arrived just last week.
