salary increement

hi all,

I am working as a mechanical engineer in a mep company . they made contract for me with 3,000 basic sal and 100 allowance. Now they are giving increement of 300.00. But says it will get added to the allowance and not basic. Shouldnt it be added to the basic salary??? TIA

Increment is the prerogative of employer unless it is stipulated in your offer letter.
