Moving to Qatar
Hi,
I am an Indian married to a Pakistani guy. We are currently settled with my In laws in Uganda, East Africa.
We are planning to move to Qatar for better job prospects and quality of life. However, I have some queries which I would be grateful if anyone can answer.
1. I was working in UAE for a year (in 2013-14) and my employer cancelled my visa with absconding which has placed an immigration ban on me. I discovered this just 2 months back. Will it be a problem to move to Qatar with the immigration ban in UAE?
2. If not, then how are the job prospects in Qatar, my husband has more than 9 years of experience in banking and over 1 year in procurement. And I was working for an MNC in India as a financial analyst for 5 years and currently work as a Senior Accountant in a manufacturing company (almost 2 years)
Are the job prospects good for a female as well?
3. What is the basic cost of living for a couple and is there a possibility to save enough to support 2 families? (1 being my in laws as they will move back to Pak and 2nd being my family in India).
Hope you guys can give me some good advice to help me take a decision.
Due to low oil prices, market is bit down and jobs are not stable. You will only be able to join your husband after he has finished 6 months here. To join him, he should have a minimum of 10000 QAR salary. If you have a good job in Uganda, my advise would be to wait till market stabilizes here.
Thank you for your responses!
How are the job prospects? If my husband comes first and finds a job, is there a possibility for me to find a job if I come after my husband gets a job?
I know some families who have moved to Qatar, the men have found a decent job but the women are jobless! I don's want to be in the same situation.
Please advice.
You better check with Qatar embassy in Uganda for your visa related issue. Even if your visa is positive in Qatar and arrive here directly , then no issue but if you travel through UAE then it is 100% you will be in jail without any question.
Not only for moving to Qatar, even if you travel to pak through UAE , you will be caught so be careful .
Also advise you to check with UAE embassy in Uganda to clear your issue and make free to fly there itself.
Why do you need to support 2 families, please let your hubby lead the family , your duty is to support him. Do not take much load by your self. You also need not to worry about your family in India. Remember you are One person, you can NOT bear the burden of everyone who is related to you, that will be TOO MUCH for anybody. You also need to reserve your health & efforts for your kids ........ ...... Be one step behind your hubby & two steps behind your in laws to have a bit comfortable breathing ........
Hello R, You are welcome in Qatar, UAE issue will not stop you from entering / working in Qatar, this will clear like a shining sun when you will get your visa for Qatar. Let your husband come here first & check the weather around, by the time you may stay there or at your in laws place, once he is settled then you may join in. Let the whole family sit together to decide where to make your head quarters. I am so sure you will need 2 - 3 years time to move from there & settle in here, that too with all of you must have a clear vision for the future & support each other, it will be a major move for your life. .....
