Guess what? QL Foodie Month is here! We have a lot of exciting things prepared for you this month and I'm going to start with the food and drinks you can't miss in Qatar! If you’re a visitor in Qatar and you’re thinking about what Qatar’s good at when it comes to food, maybe this list can help you.

Traditional Qatari food
Obviously you are going to have to try the traditional food here. These include things like harees, machboos, balaleet, khanfaroush, etc.

Mashawi
This is basically mixed grill, you would usually have it in Middle-Eastern restaurants, mostly Lebanese, Syrian or Turkish. It would include things like kebab and grilled chicken or meat pieces, etc.

Knafeh
This is an Arabic sweet and Qatar does a really good job of making these taste incredible. I would say the most popular Knafeh place is Al Aker so definitely give it a try.

Seafood
Qatar is basically sort of an island and the sea is all around us so we have a lot of delicious seafood that everyone ought to try.

Arabic Coffee
These will wake you up in a second. They’re so strong, yet they taste so good and usually they’re served at events and gatherings.

Karak
If you’ve been in Qatar long enough, you’d know exactly what this is. It’s Qatar’s favorite drink, the most famous drink here. It’s basically Indian tea that’s served pretty much everywhere but only certain places can make it right.

Chapati
This is a kind of bread, that’s better than normal bread and it’s best served with karak so I’d absolutely give this a try while I’m here.
