How students are preparing for graduation
As another year begins, another batch of students prepare for graduation. A lot of excitement comes with graduation along with a lot of questions about what is to come next.
It’s a scary period of time, the last semester of your under graduate degree because that’s when everyone is asking what your plans are when you’re done. You panic because you probably don’t know what you’re going to do afterwards. You’re excited it’s almost over but you’re also scared of the unknown!
There are so many options that come after grad like taking a gap year, some time off to relax, explore the world, try new things for yourself or just take some time off to rest after all those years of hard work in education.
Other options include going for a second degree or a post-graduate degree, like Master’s or PhD and of course the most obvious option, finding a job or an internship like me.
“Piece of advice for anyone about to graduate; don't stress out too much life will work itself out at the right time. Just keep working hard and find what you love and life will work out,” says Thanaa, who is graduating from Georgetown University,
"These last four years at university have been the best times of my life so if you're still a student, enjoy it as much as you can before the real world comes knocking on your door," claims Sherif, another 2017 graduate from Carnegie Mellon University.
For those of you who are done with university or are about to graduate, what advice do you have for those graduating after you?
