If you are active on social media, you may have seen a shocking image of a Karwa taxi driver driving his car through a pedestrian way at the Doha Corniche.

While the incident shocked bystanders and social media users alike, not much more was known about the incident. However it is now learnt that the state transportation company, upon hearing of the incident, moved swiftly to launch an investigation into the matter, reported Qatar Tribune.

The offending driver was soon apprehended and after due investigations, terminated from his job.

“Necessary action was taken and the driver was terminated on Tuesday,” said a statement from Mowasalat.

In rightful sense, he wound't have done that. I guess is a psychology problem. Meaning that he did it intentional.

Wow, that guy has outdone the landcruisers and left them looking like amateurs...getting on the corniche walkway; just when you think you've seen the worst of Qatar's drivers, in comes another to outdo the last...

Well done! I think the authority should start monitoring these Karwa/other taxi drivers. Personally I think they are a big mess to handle than a White Land Cruiser with flashing lights. These taxis cut lanes and overtake without any proper signals and manners, putting others at risk. I understand the fact that they are running around for a living, but this is too dangerous for others and the passenger inside.

almost all taxi drivers think they own the roads, most of them will not pull over when picking up or dropping off their passengers...

So sad. He would have thought that is a normal road as it is so wide and free to ride. I see in pearl and katara , they have pavement on road so it made him to confused.

I see there are many culprit still on the road. We need more camera or police to roam with normal dress code. What happen, after seeing the police man or a patrol , they act very smartly.
