Filipino-run hospital to begin construction in Qatar in 2018
A Filipino-run hospital with 100 beds will begin construction in the country soon, the Philippines’ Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said in a statement.
Construction work on the hospital, which will be located in Doha, will begin in 2018, reported GMA Network.
The project was first discussed during Philippine Health Secretary Jean Rosell-Ubial’s two-day visit to Doha. She met with prospective Qatari investors, including former Prime Minister Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani.
The DFA said that while waiting for construction work on the hospital to begin, the Medical Mission Group will first start a polyclinic in Doha by the third quarter of 2017.
Filipino expatriates are one of the most active communities in Qatar.
