Employer threatening that he will give Passport to CID or CEID
My salary is pending since last 6 months. They promised me it will be clears within few days so, I waited-waited for my salary at last I resigned. Whenever I asked for salary they threaten me to wait for few days or else they will submit my passport to CID/CEID (He is holding my passport). If I go to labour court he willl submit my passport to CID. What should I do now so that he dont submit my passport to CID and I can file case easily in court. Please need your valuable advice.
Visit police station in your area and make complaint saying they took your passport, then go to labour court and complaint
They have held your passport. You can even report it to the nearest police station first. No Company in Qatar are allowed to hold their employees passport, it is against law and is punishable by the law.
Visit Human Rights Committee and file a petition there stating both the non-payment of salaries for several months and also the company was holding back your passport. They will help you out. You can also file a complaint at the Labour Office and they too will help you out. Once your case comes on record either at Human Right or the Labour Office, I believe your company can do nothing.
