Sushma Swaraj initiates steps to help two Indian men stranded in Qatar

India’s External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has begun taking steps to help two Indian men who are reportedly abused by their employer and stranded in Qatar.
She has asked MC Luther, the Protector General of Emigrants, to prosecute a Pune-based agent who sent two Indians — 24-year-old Parvez Ahmad and 27-year-old Mohammed Akram — to Qatar, reported Times of India.
Earlier, the duo from Uttar Pradesh, in a video plea, had detailed horror stories of their treatment by their employer.
Sushma Swaraj has also asked the Indian Embassy in Doha to verify the case and take necessary action, in co-ordination with Qatar’s legal authorities.
The two arrived in Qatar four months ago, with the agent promising them good jobs in Qatar. But they were taken to an animal farm and asked to tend camels and goats. According to them, their employer has been stripping and bashing them on a regular basis.
Here is to wishing a speedy resolution to the case.
