The body of avid cyclist Ed Bacay, who died in a road accident in Qatar on Christmas day last year, is expected to be repatriated to The Philippines soon, according to embassy officials.

Police investigations into the death is expected to conclude soon and further action will be taken after that, reported Gulf Times.

It is understood that Bacay, an engineer by profession, had been a regular at various cycling competitions around the country. He was also a member of the United Filipino Mountain Bikers Qatar (UFMBQ).

He and six other Filipino cyclists were on a morning ride when the fatal accident occurred. His body is currently in the Hamad Hospital morgue.

On December 30, almost 400 cyclists had organised an event in Doha in his memory. We offer our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

Whoever wrote this article on Gulf Times did not even bother to gather facts. 1. Ed Bacay is an Architect not Engineer (bet you didnt even know from which company he is working.) 2. He lives in Las Piñas not in Makati 3. You took the account of the Accident from someone who is not directly involved with the incident. This article's level of sensibility is nothing more like an article from school paper.
