Drunk passenger who harassed airhostess in flight gets two years in jail

There are people who make the most of complementary alcoholic drinks provided inside flights during long journeys. While most people drink responsibly, there are some who lose their head and misbehave with cabin crew while on flight.

One such passenger, who lost his bearings and misbehaved with a cabin crew member, was given a two-year jail sentence and a QR100,000 fine by a Doha criminal court recently.

Gulf Times reported that the man, who had consumed alcohol on a flight from Bangkok to Doha, got intoxicated and created trouble for the cabin crew. In an inebriated state, he refused to follow instructions for his own and his fellow passengers’ safety.

He also tried to harass an air hostess on board. Once the flight landed in Doha, he was apprehended and handed over to police. The court convicted the passenger when his case came up for trial.

jmkodaniyil: They are counting on people to be responsible drinkers where the problem is not to be responsible or not. The problem is in alkohol itself which will make any responsible person irresponsible.

@hamzah1234:- Who the hell said you that one needs to be a graduate to become an air hostess? Even a simple 12th pass can become an Air hostess.

You just need to be in a certain age limit , Your looks, Pleasing personality and some kind of hospitality training. FYI ""I AM A DEGREE HOLDER.""""

@carz: yes but you have no right to disrespect honest people who are working an honest job. And btw carz these "Air hostess" or stewardess have college degrees something that you don't have. they actually went to college and finished it. you should be ashamed of yourself for degrading them.

//Working as an Airhotess is the most cheapest profession for a lady to opt. "nothing less that serving others like a waiter". Women with no self respect go for such professions.//

Only a person with no values can post such a comment. A misogynist buffoon.

Mahorf: Religion is a personal matter, you are free to abide by it or is anyone stopping you? However I would expect you to extend the same freedom to others. Live and let live. Don't force your belief on others.

Not wishing to take this discussion too far off track, but saying that “… most muslims who drinks are feeling bad about it and wish to quit.” Is subjective and in my opinion erroneous

By Mahorf• 15 Jan 2017 12:36

Mufti Shahid: Try to understand what i am saying. liquor in Islam is banned weather a muslim or non-muslim like it or not. In addition most muslims who drinks are feeling bad about it and wish to quit.

Comparing liquor with cars is a very bad example.

By Mufti Shahid• 15 Jan 2017 12:07

Mr.Mahrof: You have no right to decide for other Muslims and you are free to choose any airline which doesn't serve liquor.

And why should liquor be banned? Simply because some idiots create ruckus on board. It is like saying let us ban cars because hundreds and thousands of people die due to accidents.

By Mahorf• 15 Jan 2017 11:21

Brit: If we see a drinking Muslim then we would simply say that this particular individual is not following Islamic rules and we should advise him to stop. We would not say that since some Muslims drink then lets change these rules.

Good that the misbehaving passenger has been sentenced.

Responsible drinking is what is needed.

Mahorf: Surely it is up to the individuals to ensure that they don't consume too much and make a nuisance of themselves..

As an aside, you will agree that there are many Muslims who drink on planes too ...

Brit. I know that but if the airlines belongs to Islamic country then it is obvious why it should have been banned from the first place. Differentiating the service should not lead by any means to in-securing other passengers rights or affecting their comfortable seating.

Mahorf: It is a way of differentiating the service .. Most airlines offer this

I wonder where the guy was from and which airline it was
