Couple are mocked for spending £800 on two cocktails - with one VERY rare ingredient

Bottom of Form
There are some nights where, for whatever reason, you end up spending more than you set out to.
Now, imagine that £810 bought you a grand total of TWO drinks.
It must be some horrible mistake, surely? Not at the five star Widder Hotel in Zurich it isn't.
There, two El Maximo cocktails will set you back 520 Swiss Francs (the equivalent of £405 each).
Just ask Dirk Hany, the bartender who proudly mixed them for one couple.
The cocktails are not made up of the tears of angels, as you'd expect. However, they do contain some pretty fancy ingredients.
These are Havana Club Anejo Maximo, fresh lime juice, sugarcane and - the killer - white truffle from Alba, Italy, which is what drives the cost up so high.
It's this last one which makes the cocktail so eye-wateringly expensive.
So, is it wrong to spend so much on two drinks or “it’s their money to do with as they please” ?
