Today, Darb El Saai will see five Qatari charities join hands to organise a joint fund-raising campaign for the people of the besieged Syrian city of Aleppo.

The event, overseen by the State National Day Celebrations Organising Committee, will begin at 7pm at the flagpole yard and will be telecast live on Qatar TV and Al Rayyan Channel.

Qatar, in a show of solidarity with the residents of Aleppo, had cancelled all their celebrations for Qatar National Day.

“All types of donations are welcome. We’ll continue receiving donations as long as there’re people to donate, and there’s no specific time frame”, an official told The Peninsula newspaper.

Five Qatari charities will take part in the campaign — Qatar Charity, Eid Charity, Qatar Red Crescent Society, Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) and Afif Charity.

Each charity has allocated 20 donation boxes each at the Darb El Saai,

Hundreds of people are expected to come by make their donations at the event. In addition, several companies and hotels in Qatar have promised a part of their revenue as donation to Aleppo.

People are free to donate in cash or kind.

Katara Cultural Village has placed around 18 boxes near their beach premises for cash donation. There are also two containers where people can drop off clothes and other stuff.

Aspire Zone Foundation has decided to donate all income generated from its restaurants, between December 15 and 17, to Qatar Charity.

Let’s all join hands to wipe the tears off the cheeks of our Syrian brothers and sisters.

apparently after funding the so called rebels who shoot at civilians, if you joined Russian hands and helped the legitimate government all this could have been avoided, you have to take responsibilities for your actions and remember, the yanks can't be trusted, the other day Iraq, Afghan, Libya and today it's Syria have you wondered who''ll be next?
