Qatari federations start electing new officials for next Olympic cycle
The different sports federations functioning under the umbrella of the Qatar Olympic Committee have started electing new officials for the 2016 to 2020 Olympic cycle. Here are some of the new officials in charge.
Athletics
Dr Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari was elected as president of the Qatar Athletics Federation (QAF) during its General Assembly last Thursday. Mohammed Issa Al Fadala is the new QAF General Secretary while Khalifa Abdulmalik, Khalid Al Marri and Talal Mansour were elected as board members.
Bowling
Abdulsalam Abass was re-elected unopposed to the post of president. Former double world champion Ahmed Shaheen is the new QBF General Secretary while former players Bandar Al Shafi, Saieed Hadi Al Hajiri and Abdullah Al Qahtani are the board members.
Handball
Ahmed Mohammed Abdulrab Al Shaabi was re-elected unanimously as Qatar Handball Association (QHA) President. The other office-bearers are Mohammed Jaber Al Mulla (General Secretary) Khalifa Taiseer Al Jassim, Hamad Misfer Al Nuaimi and Adel Hilal Al Anzi (Board members).
Volleyball
Ali Ghanem Al Kawari was elected unopposed as president of the Qatar Volleyball Association (QVBA). He replaced earlier president Khalid Ali Al Malawi.
Mohammed Ali Al Mohannadi was retained as QVBA General Secretary while the board members are Yousef Kano, Mubarak Eid Al Abdullah and Saied Salim Bakheet.
