Split ACs needed

We need 2 split AC for our new home..but we are confused if we should get second hand ones or wait and but new ones..Split at our parents house needs repair n service every 4 months.. So i am worried if i get second hand ac it will have the same fate..
Suggestions pls and also suggest good brands, not very expensive also..
Do not waste money on new one my pal.. But one cheaply from a neighbor who is leaving - perhaps he will give it for free

A brand new Ac carries a 5-year warranty on the compressor and a 1-year warranty on other parts. Second hand Ac will not let you have this advantage. Also, if the Ac at your parent's house require service every four months, then there is some major problem with it. Air conditioners require servicing usually once in a year. All that one needs to do is to keep cleaning the air filter regularly which could be done by any one.
