Drivers on roads should be extra careful, as the Met Department has predicted low visibility in the northern parts of Qatar, due to fog, in the early hours today.

The weather office also said that suitable weather conditions for offshore activities were expected over the weekend, with the sea state being “slight to moderate,” reported Gulf Times.

The detailed forecast for inshore areas on Friday says hazy to misty/foggy conditions are likely in the northern areas at first, followed by a hot day with some clouds. It will be relatively humid and hazy by night.

Visibility may drop to 2km or less in some places towards the north in the early hours, according to the weather report.

On Thursday, the maximum temperature recorded in Qatar was 47C in Batna, followed by 46C in Sheehaniyah, Karanah and Turayna, and 45C in the Qatar University area and Jumayliyah.

Friday, the mercury level is expected to reach a high of 42C in Doha and Abu Samra, and 41C in Messadied, Wakrah and Al Khor.
