Place Vendôme Shines at Condé Nast International LuxuryConference
For the second consecutive year, Place Vendôme Qatar, the Parisian inspired QAR 5 billion mixed-use development served as a lead Partner of the Condé Nast International Luxury Conference. The event, which took place 20– 21 April in Seoul, attracted business and creative leaders from across the globe to discuss the future of luxury and its potential in the region.
“We’re delighted to have partnered with Condé Nast International to present the CNI Luxury Conference again this year,” said Mr. Sean Kelly, Project Director of Place Vendôme. “Condé Nast has proven once again that it has a unique understanding of, and access to the luxury market. This year’s conference gathered some of the brightest minds in fashion and business. It also gave us an unparalleled opportunity to introduce Place Vendôme to a host of premier brands and to highlight the potential of the Qatari market.”
The Condé Nast International Luxury Conference was curated by International Vogue Editor Suzy Menkes and featured talks by luminaries from the worlds of fashion, art, technology, business and social media. Speakers at the event included executives from Giorgio Armani, Balmain, Chanel, Coach, Diesel, Instagram, McKinsey & Co., Samsung C&T, Swarovski, and Versace, as well as leading designers and representatives from South Korea’s burgeoning art and fashion scene.
As part of its role as a partner, Place Vendôme co-hosted a future-luxury-themed cocktail evening on the first day of the conference. The event took place at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza, a neo-futuristic development designed by Zaha Hadid and Korean studio Samoo which serves as the centerpiece of South Korea’s fashion hub.
The conference marks another successful collaboration between Condé Nast and Qatari real estate development company, United Developers. Earlier this year, Place Vendôme joined the publishing giant at Milan Fashion Week to present “Laugh. Play. Fun.” a special issue of Vogue Italia guest-edited by world-renowned fashion photographer Mario Testino. Place Vendôme was also a partner at the first-ever Condé Nast International Luxury Conference, held last year in Florence.
“United Developers and Place Vendôme are honored to play a role in elevating Qatar’s profile in the world luxury market through such events as the CNI Luxury Conference,” commented Mr. Kelly.
Place Vendôme currently underway in Lusail City, is a project of United Developers. The ambitious endeavor, which is anticipated to open in 2018, features 800,000m² of shopping, dining, entertainment, hotels and living space. The mixed-use development will feature two five-star luxury hotels, serviced apartments, a central entertainment amphitheater and a mall featuring up to 400 different retail outlets with an exclusive annex for the world’s leading luxury brands. With so much to offer, Place Vendôme will undoubtedly become a leading destination for fashion, luxury, lifestyle and leisure in the Middle East.
