Expect very hot and windy conditions in Qatar today
It will continue to be hot and windy in the country today, Gulf Times reported the Qatar Met department as saying.
The wind speed may go up to 30 knots in some inshore areas at times today before dropping to under 10 knots by night. In offshore areas, it is likely to reach a high of around 25 knots at first before decreasing to 8-15 knots, according to the weather report.
The forecast for inshore areas says strong winds are expected in some places during the day along with poor visibility due to slight to blowing dust.
It will also be hot, with the maximum temperature likely to reach a high of 45C in Mesaieed and Wakrah, 44C in Doha and 42C in Al Khor.
Offshore areas, too, are likely to see strong winds along with high seas in the early hours today, with the sea level reaching 8ft before dropping to 2-4ft. Slightly dusty conditions are also expected.
Visibility, meanwhile, may drop to 3km or less in some places at times.
The weather office had, on Tuesday, said windy conditions were likely to prevail in the country until the end of next week.
This, in turn, was likely to result in blowing dust and poor visibility. It also issued a warning for strong winds and high waves in offshore areas.
