HH Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Misnad met with Pope Francis as part of a private audience at the Vatican City on Saturday.

She affirmed how his message of unity and hand of friendship to all people and faiths is more important now than ever.
In return, Pope Francis expressed his appreciation for Her Highness’s work through the Education Above All foundation, which provides access to education for millions of out of school children around the world.
In their discussions, HH Sheikha Moza cited statistics showing that between 2009 and 2012 there were at least 30 countries that were heavily affected by attacks on schools.
Pope Francis said he was aware of the gravity of the situation, and stressed that every person in conflict areas should to be protected, particularly children and therefore schools.
After her meeting with Pope Francis, Her Highness witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Qatar National Library and the Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana to digitise and make publicly available a range of invaluable Arabic and Islamic manuscripts, which are held in the collection of the Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana.
Dr Hamad Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, adviser in the Emiri Diwan and member of the Qatar National Library board of trustees, formalized the agreement with Mons Cesare Pasini, Director of Vatican Library.
These manuscripts will be available through the Qatar Digital Library, a world-class, online portal launched in October, 2014, to provide worldwide free access to an extensive collection of historical items related to the Middle East.

fgnhgn: Ha! Ha! Good thinking! Aren't there too many of them around here who do not know their jobs yet draw fat salaries and live a luxurious life simply because they come from the WEST? The life many westerners live in Qatar and also in other ME countries, is something they cannot dream of back home. And the income is tax-free!
She is going as a representative of her country and why should it bother anyone. As far as I have seen she is very progressive and takes active part in public life.
WT: Simple! To make westerners happy and attract them towards Qatar.
A very good step indeed. In a world that is being overtaken by people who exist simply to spread hatred among believers of different faiths, this meeting goes a long way to strengthen the bondage between the world's two great religions.
as a Christian, I welcome open arms this visit to our pope by Sheikha Moza. As human beings, it does not matter what religion you have - what matters is we can co-exist with each other in peace and harmony. Salute to Sheika Moza and her family and Qatar as a Nation - truly a Great nation Qatar is.
A name is a very important thing to everyone and as such it should always be spelled correctly. In this post the subject line spells the name as "Sheikha Moza" and right in the first line of the post the name is spelled as "HH Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Misnad." Which one is correct "Moza" or "Mozah?"
WT: Once again you have got it all wrong. Your very limited knowledge of Islam has developed within your puny little mind wrong concepts about the religion hence your continued negative views of this religion. From where did you get to learn that Christians were considered as "Unbelievers" by Muslims?
This is very nice
