Turkey to build super speciality hospital in Qatar soon
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met Prime Minister of Turkey Dr Ahmet Davutoglu and the accompanying delegation in Doha on Thursday. They discussed bilateral relations and means of enhancing them as well as a number of regional issues.
Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani also attended the meeting.
"We look forward to continue efforts to enhance the excellent and deeply-rooted bilateral relations over the decades, which witnessed a steady development in political, economic, security, cultural and other fields," the PM said.
Later, addressing the Qatari-Turkish Business Forum, Davutoglu said Turkey will start building a multi-million dollar super speciality hospital in Qatar soon and a number of Turkish doctors will join the health sector in Qatar.
He said Qatar's strategic location in the GCC region makes it a preferred trade partner for Turkey. Various initiatives, including the free trade agreement with Qatar, are being taken to increase trade volume between the two countries, he added.
Currently, the trade volume between the two countries is $1.3bn and a figure of $5bn is targetted in the coming years, he said.
