Internet banking access after leaving Qatar

Hi,

I will be leaving Qatar soon and moving to a new country and my RP will get cancelled.

Can some please advise if I have to close my current account / savings account with IBQ before leaving the country.

Also if I leave my account open, will I still be to access internet banking to transfer funds once my bank account is set up in the new country.

Thanks.

It should be like that because I can open a bank account everywhere in the world without being a citizen of these countries.

You can continue to hold your bank account. I know this for a fact because a couple of my colleagues left the country over the past few months and they need to have their accounts open as the final settlement is only paid to them after they leave directly to their bank account.

Wild Turkey should move back to Switzerland. As for keeping your bank account in Qatar, that won't be possible without an RP.

Very funny rules indeed. They should also close the Al Thani bank accounts in Switzerland because they have no RP for that country!

As per the rules , the bank account is closed when your RP is cancelled .
