Description
- Ensure each job has been pre-vetted including risk assessment and liaison with land owners.
- Manage, co-ordinate and direct assigned resources to complete each project, maintaining safe working practices at all times.
- Be responsible for and take the lead role for health, safety and work quality on each jointing operation.
- Use improved working techniques to increase efficiency.
- Correctly use and maintain power tools, test equipment and measuring instruments.
- Be flexible and work safely and efficiently on customers’/asset distribution systems.
- Experience of Low Voltage Jointing Processes e.g. Waveform - PILC.
- Experience of High Voltage Jointing e.g. PILC, PICAS, XLPE/Polymeric.
- Prepare different types of cable with different cable sheathing systems and accessories for the jointing process.
- Joint Copper/Aluminium Cables using mechanical/compression techniques.
- Insulate and protect cable joints and terminations according to the specification using heat shrink tubing or cold mix compound.
- Apply "live work" procedures and skills for service and mains jointing.

Desired Skills & Experience
City and Guilds Apprenticeship served in Electricity Supply Industry. Authorisations for various Distribution Network Operators. Knowledge of Single and 3 Phase Circuits. Knowledge of Industrial hazards and Health and Safety precautions. Excellent customer service principles.Location
