Please advice

dear all,

hope you're all doing good. the news for mass lay offs and staff retrenchemnt are going rounds everyday. me, personally witnessed how HMC terminated some staff.

anyway, I am planning to have my son here (on a permanent visa) and my sister on a visit visa because she will be the one to accompany my child. In HMC, if you're a female staff, you need to have your children a visa first before you can apply for a family status. and I need to step out of the housing compound. That way you can have a housing and transportation allowance.

I was thinking if i would still take my child here with these crisis going on. I am not sure (nobody is) if HMC would still grant me a family status at this point.  any advice? thank you.

The budget for Govt. expenditure has been cut to almost half of what it was last year. "Rumors" are they will be hiring staff from India/Pakistan/Sri Lanka for cheap. :p

HMC has plans to do a lot more termination in the coming months..esp doctors, nurses and cleaners. My advice would be to wait it out till march and see how the situation is before spending all that money for visa, tickets and paper work.
