Youth arrested for possession and consumption of illegal pills
A young man has been sentenced to three years in jail and a fine of QR400,000 by a Doha Criminal Court for possession, consumption and trading of Fenethylline pills.
Local Arabic daily Arrayah reported yesterday that the Drug Prevention Department of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) received information about the defendant’s activities.
Accordingly, an undercover officer contacted the defendant to buy some pills. They agreed to meet at a certain time at Al Murra Area, where the defendant handed the undercover officer a cigarette box containing 20 of the illicit pills in exchange for QR2,500.
As soon as the delivery was completed, police personnel arrested the defendant. A blood test of the defendant revealed that he had taken such drugs. Besides, he confessed his crimes before the court. [Gulf Times]
