A hospital in Saudi Arabia terminated an anaesthetist from work after discovering that he was working at the hospital with a fake certificate for 20 years.
This news went viral on social media and many users called on health authorities to keep the Indian anaesthetist in the country and investigate all the medical cases that he handled.
Ahmed, a Saudi, alleged that there are many who are working in GCC countries with fake certificates.
“We have heard many stories about engineers, experts and doctors who were caught for working with fake certificates. As an anaesthetist, it is putting lives of patients in danger. This is a serious crime. The hospital must refer him to legal authorities and punish him,” he added.
Fahad, another Saudi man, shared similar views and said that the hospital must start investigations.
The hospital must check all medical cases this person was involved in. It is important to give justice to patients and their families who may have may have been harmed.
So - Should the person be punished ? More importantly, what about the hospital which hired him ?
I meant experts!
It is common in GCC that many people come with fake certificates and just learn things along the way and say that they are expects after many trials and failures. Same goes for plumbers, electricians, doctors, cooks, etc. those that I met say that are who they are, but they are no expects.
20 years and counting and nobody died because of him??!!! Then he really should much better than many "real" and "certified" doctors that I personally know. I personally believe a university degree doesn't make you a professional. After all, it is just a paper. What's more important is the hands-on experience that you accumulate.
20 years is too much, if he isn't a legal anesthetist how he had able to stay all this time without committing a mistake that might expos him in the early time?
WT: Before deporting him, they should review his past cases to see if any death occurred
Obviously he did a good job. Maybe another anesthetist with certificate would have killed patients.
wow....& here we are doing everything legally & still worrying abt jobs
