Qatar’s Emiri Diwan has announced that Sunday, Dec. 20 will be a public holiday since the National Day holiday is during the weekend this year.

"The Emiri Diwan announces that on the occasion of the National Day of the State, corresponding to December 18, 2015 it has been decided that Sunday December 20, 2015 will be an official holiday and that employees shall resume their duties on Monday," said a statement by Qatar News Agency.

While the public sector will enjoy the day off, some employers in the private sector may choose not to give the day off.

Meanwhile, if you're looking to get involved in some National Day activities, here's a post about what is going around Doha for #QND2015.
