Find out if you’re a safe driver with this new mobile app
The Qatar Mobility Innovations Centre (QMIC) has launched ‘How’s My Driving’ mobile app at iTunes store of Apple’s iPhone for free.
It is a new road safety solution that allows motorists to assess and improve driving performance and win insurance incentives.
So far, the app is available only for iPhone users and later it will be launched on other smart phones.
The app is designed to record movements of the motorists during driving based on certain points like for over-speeding, accelerating, using the brakes and maintaining adequate distance with the car in front.
Internet connection is not needed for the app to collect the data of motorists while driving.
To encourage the motorists to use the app for safety, the QMIC will award top three excellent users per month. Users are now able to monitor their driving behaviour and score, share their results on social media, and compete with other drivers for the ‘Safest Driver’ ranking, showing a ‘gamification’ aspect of the app.
“How’s My Driving” has a user friendly-interface, optimized for local and regional markets, and is available in both Arabic and English languages. The app is currently available in iTunes stores, and will be ported to Android devices at a later. [The Peninsula]

Nice initiative, if some one finding it difficult to search it in appstore (on iphone), search for word "Hows My Driving" in appstore and you will get it. If your region is Qatar then it will be first in result.
Great app ever for drivers in qatar. I hope this app would change the attitude of drivers and ofcourse the driving standard in qatar. Well done to QMIC.
