Schools on visit visa

Hi Guys,

I am new in Doha and in a process of getting my RP. I am planning to get my family on a visit visa as I cant get them on RP until I have a bank statement of 3-6 months. My question is, are there any schools in Doha which takes kids on visit visa? My son was going to Cambridge school in Abu Dhabi.

Any assistance would be really helpful.

Regards

Yes - that's pretty much it. 30 day visit visa, can be extended at the airport for 100QR to 60days (total), quick trip to Bahrain / Dubai / AD and then repeat. Your PRO at work should be able to sort the extension for you.

DESS (Doha English Speaking School) & DC (Doha College) are what seem to be the 2 popular ones here. Both excellent schools from what I have seen and what people here say.

I did hear that the older years actually have space in them, it's the Reception / pre school where it's busy. But you won't be able to send your child(ren) to any without an RP. They'll be able to offer you a place however if they have space and you are lucky.

There are certain companies have some sort of corporate access to the schools and I believe strings can be pulled. Best speak to your PRO.

Welcome to Doha / ahlan wa sahlan by the way!

Thanks Deleerious. So I guess the only option is to bring them on visit and start applying.

I will be planning for British schools as my son was already going to Cambridge. Can you guide me about the schools you applied?

Thanks so much.

Alyaly - I am in a similar position to you but a bit further down the line. You can apply for schools for when your family has it's RP, and you can be offered places, but they cannot go to school until they have a valid RP

Again - as confirmed above, it's 6 months bank statements, attested certs etc.

Schools here are almost booked.

Better to keep them in your home country till next year till you get your 6 months statement.

Keep your family separate from your work life .......... if you wish to rise up .............. one can't concentrate on work fully if there are pending issues on dependent visas / visits etc .............

Thank you acchabaccha for the response. So, what options do I have? I mean is there any nursery or private schools?

Thanks in advance.

First, they will need six months bank statement to consider a permanent visa for you wife and children. Secondly, no school will give admission to your children if they are on visit visa.
