Woman fined for injuring husband during a dispute
An expatriate Arab woman has been fined QR1,000 by a Doha Criminal Court for injuring her husband during a marital dispute.
According to Gulf Times, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported yesterday that the woman was convicted of hitting her husband with her mobile phone in his face. Besides, she insulted him in a harsh way as he tried to get in her way while trying to go out of the house for work.
The court also proved that the wife admitted her actions through her account on a social media website.
The case began when the Capital Security Department received a call from the wife indicating that she had some family trouble. Accordingly, a police patrol headed to her house and found the man injured in his face. So, he was transported to the hospital.
Both the husband and wife exchanged accusation of physical and verbal assault during the interrogation at the public prosecution.
However, the wife could not prove any of her accusations, the daily added.
Excellent
That would be same (or may be severe), since our religion protects rights of both husband and wife.
Wonder what the sentence would have been if the roles had been reversed
