Education requirements for working in Qatar?
Hopefully you can all help me - I'm getting conflicting information about the minimum education requirements for expat professionals to get work in Qatar. Some recruiters are telling me that I have to have a bachelors degree to work/get a work visa in Qatar, others are saying that isn't a requirement for a visa. Could someone please tell me the legal requirement? (a degree isn't normally a requirement for my field - experience gets you much further with most companies).

Without certificate you can able to get lower category (labor) work visa.
Three things are the main requirements here: colour of the skin, nationality and religion. Qualifications and experience are all secondary requirements.
Many thanks for the replies. I'm a HSE/safety manager that specializes in marine projects (18 years experience all over the world), have never had to have a degree before.
The question is what is the job your applying?
Educational certificates need to be legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the home country, then attested by the Qatar Embassy, also in the home country. After arrival, attestation should be done by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Doha only for professionals like -Engineers, Doctor. but the lower category work visa you don't want to submit any documents.
As far as I'm aware, you do not need a degree to get employment and visa in Qatar. Having said that , many employers specify a degree as a minimum, especially for supervisory and management roles. If a company is willing to hire you for your work experience , then good for you.
