Traffic Violation

Hello!

I received a traffic violation of QAR.600 for over speeding @ 106 KM/HR at Khulaifat/Mamoura/Mesaimeer

1) Can anyone tell me where is this location or exactly which radar is this?

2) I have noticed that even when we are driving in the right lanes under 80 KM/HR and another vehicle is over speeding at the same time, we are caught in the radar as a result of the camera taking the picture, and we end up paying for nothing. Can anyone guide as to how to approach the traffic department to justify yourself.

Previously I had a traffic violation of QAr.1000 at Freej Al Nasr, no description mentioned. I was not even at the place at that time. I took time-off from work and went to Madinat-Khalifa traffic department to verify the violation. It resulted in nothing but running from counter-to-counter, person-to-person, long waiting hours, finally forcing myself to take a day off at work. This got my salary deducted for the day and I ended up paying almost double the fine.

Does anyone know anybody in the traffic department or any person well versed with the traffic department who can help me verifying the violation.

Thank you all for your comments & feedback.

Yes, may be I didn't get a chance to talk to the Captain himself. That's when things could have been different. Every time I went to the desk, they would ask me to have a seat and wait for my token no being called on display. There are a bunch of people always in and around captain and his area and you hardly get to approach him. And when you try very hard to meet him, the police will again ask you to take a seat and await your turn.

But thanks for giving the positive boost. I will try with Madinat Khalifa once again.

And I will take somebody who is Arabic. (*_*)

I received my first speeding ticket last week...I have no idea how I got it, on a side street. I can only believe it was a construction zone, not marked well.

Qaataarliving: I don't agree with you. I guess you have not had the opportunity of meeting the captains at police stations or at immigration offices. They are very cooperative and very helpful people.

i feel you're not handling it well...its pretty easy to find someone in the traffic dept to talk to about violations...you can ask for picture/video proof from the camera and for the 1000 rial fine, you can ask for a description and tell them you were not there at all...there's a reception area in the new traffic dept and i'd be surprised if the helpful captains over there won't help you...also, the new cameras in qatar can actually tell which car was speeding, if there's two cars in the same photo...but not sure about the older ones...but temporary mobile speed cameras definitely can't tell which car was speeding...further, many times, the police themselves cancel many fines when there's two cars in the same shot and the camera can't tell which one it was...just go and talk politely to someone again, this is easy to sort out...

I think the radar is in between Regency signal and fish market roundabout. Near mamoura police station.
