Keeping winter sicknesses at bay

With winter approaching, many of us have already begun to succumb to illnesses starting from the common cold and flu.
This is why, Gulf Times reports, the Supreme Council of Health (SHC) has initiated a campaign to raise public awareness son the significance of vaccination against seasonal Influenza.
The national campaign which was launched by the Public Health Department of the SHC on Sunday includes a comprehensive list of categories people that the Department of Health Protection and Communicable Disease Control would reach out to.
On the day of the launch and on yesterday, the Public Health Department vaccinated employees under this campaign.
Meanwhile, here are a few tips that could help you to stay fit and away from the winter sicknesses.
1-Catch up on your sleep during winter. Generally, the nights tend to be longer during the cold seasons and hence, use them to sleep well.
2-It has been found that a person has 80% chance of catching a cold during winter. Take some precautionary steps by increasing your intake of dairy products (they have plenty of Vitamin B12 and proteins in them) and Vitamin C.
3-Eat a lot of healthy, comfort food with loads of fruits and vegetables in them.
4-Exercise regularly and try to sweat out.
