Education Fair to give insight into degree programmes offered at universities in Qatar
Some universities from the Education City of the Qatar Foundation will be hosting an educational fair called, “Discover Education City 2015” on the 13th and 14th of October from 5PM to 9PM at the Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) Student Center.
The participants of the fair will be able to gain an insight about the courses offered in the universities. The highlight of this year’s fair would be the graduate programmes of the universities.
9 Universities will take part in this educational fair, including HBKU, Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar, Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, Texas A&M University at Qatar, Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, Georgetown University School of Foreign Services in Qatar, Northwestern University in Qatar, HEC Paris in Qatar and UCL Qatar.
Nasser al-Binali, head of HBKU Student Recruitment, said, “This year we are pleased to be giving an opportunity to tell prospective students about the greatly expanded range of post-graduate programmes on offer. At HBKU alone, there are now 18 post-graduate programmes being offered.”
Furthermore, the graduate degrees which will be featured for the first time in the fair are, HBKU’s programmes in law, biomedical, biological sciences, sustainable energy, sustainable environment, energy and resources, translation studies and Islamic studies.
Also, VCU Qatar will offer a MFA in design studies as well as an executive MBA programme and specialized master’s degrees in strategic business unit management by HEC Paris in Qatar, are a few other new degrees for this year.
UCL Qatar will provide information about its master’s degrees in library and information studies, archaeology of the Arab and Islamic world and conservation studies.
A number of universities will also provide details of their post-graduate diploma or certificate programmes.
