Why are we afraid to talk to each other ?
I've noticed something strange happening in the last few years. People are afraid to talk face to face. I got into the lift this morning. Every person that entered refused to make eye contact or smile and quickly took out their smart phone and started looking at it.
Got me thinking. why is this? Why are we afraid to smile at someone or say hello or strike up a conversation ?
Prize, We need to safeguard ourselves from people who take advantage of the situation .......... Brit , I don't doubt the intentions of the people to whom Prize comes face to face a fews times daily ............. ............
It will be a challenging situation really ............ If somebody is standing snugly behind you { accurately } and you still have the courage to smile ? .................... ........
Nobody would like to be pinched { for free } at an early morning crowded lift .............
May be they were too busy planning their day's work.
Atleast they are compromising with you. Please bath daily.
You are very right brit. A smile from a pretty lady can paint a "million" words!)-
You are correct @britexpat, reality, new generation culture, smart phone revolution , may be mental sickness
WT: You may well be right. An expression or smile can paint a thousand words.
Talking face-to-face is dangerous. People might notice when you are lying. Writing messages on a smartphone is easy. Nobody knows if it's true or not. The world of Facebook, Qatar Living, and smartphones is creating the platform for endless cheating!
You should try taking a Tube in London. If anyone speaks in rush hour you'd think they are crazy. Technology is taking over. We don't really talk in the office... just send e - mails.
