Qatar municipality cleans up Al Wakrah Port
The Beaches and Islands Section at the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning recently cleaned up a heavily littered Al Wakrah Port, The Peninsula reports.
The port was filling up with discarded items like tyres, fishing nets, Gargoors and other submerged objects in addition to plastic cans and timber from the wharf.
Fishermen and the owners of ships and boats were urged not to dump waste in the sea as part of efforts to preserve the marine environment and the general view of the area.
The municipality recently cleaned up the waterfronts at Doha Corniche as part of its efforts to keep the city beautiful and clean.
