Credit Card Activated by CBQ without my Authorisation
Dear Friends,
Recently i got a account statement (via email) from Commercial Bank or Qatar (CBQ) wherein i was told to pay 603.00 QAR service charges. I called up the CBQ Helpline on 1st June 2015 to enquire what the service charges were for. The Helpline Executive Ms. Sivana checked and told me that the service charges were for my credit card charges for the year. I told her i never requested or authorized CBQ to activate my Credit Card. To this Sivana checked and told me that CBQ has auto activated my Credit Card without my authorisation. She informed me that i have to pay the 603 QAR. I requested her to forward my complaint to the concerned department to which she informed me that the complaint was forwarded and i will get a call from the concerned within 24 Hrs. but today is 5th June 2015 and i have not received any reply from CBQ. She also informed me that this has happened to many customers.
I request anyone one of you who has faced similar incident to please share what was the outcome of your complaint with CBQ.

Exactly CBQ is a nightmare and full of surprises!!! For international online transfer they charges 15QAR as commision and 11QAR as service charge which is complete rip off. and Transfered little money from CBQ to QNB they charged 10QAR as service charge. Asked for new ATM pin charged me 10QAR for reissuing new pin. based on these experiences and hearing bad stories of others not activated my credit card and wanting to canel it as soon as possible. Im a customer of QNB for the past 5 yrs. Never experienced such comfort here in CBQ.
Report them to the central bank.
Dear Friend don't go to your bank fro creating a scene and be in trouble your self, please forward your complaint to Central bank of Qatar at same time to consumer protection department(CPD). for any issue there is a straight solution, don't act stupidly and get trouble.
CBQ is rip off.
Highest interest rate than any other bank in Qatar. So much of hidden charges. Charge you even for asking questions (lol). Their credit card is nightmare.
Just go any of their branch in rush hour. meet one of the customer service agent, create some scene. they will solve it. make sure you cancel the card (at any cost) as soon as they close the case. Good luck.
I personally know about 10+ people who cancelled CBQ and went to other banks.
