Obtaining job without a degree

Hi, wondering if anyone could advise please. I am already working in Doha and my husband is looking to find work, he is a gas/ electrical engineer in the UK and works in facilities/ project management. However it appears that most 'better paid' jobs are requiring a degree whereas he has all the necessary UK based vocational qualifications to do this work. I'd be grateful for any advice to whether there are agencies which would look at experience and other qualifications rather than a degree. Thanks in advance.

I think i can answer this question BEST, If your husband has the qualification and experience to do the job in Qatar which is mostly about experience he would get the job, If he does not have a degree the only think that would affect him would be the title on the Visa , to be honest it would not matter for a british passport holder as you get Visa on arrival anyways. When it comes to big companies most companies prefer Degree's but his experience and times as well can be something they can look at. Also depends on the company clients most big clients will require a Degree but with regards to work i dont think he should have a problem there. Thanks Hope that helped

The issue is that in almost all cases he would have to show a degree related to his area of work in order to get a work visa .

The only option may be a short term business visa working through a contractor - although I don't know how feasible that is
